Hicksville Board of Education Reorganizes
The Hicksville Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday, July 9. At this time, the board for the 2002-2003 school year was sworn in, including newly-elected members Caryn Calabrese and James Pino. Augustine Tornatore, who was elected to the board in May and immediately filled the seat formerly held by James Black, was also sworn in.

Man Not Charged in Hicksville Vehicular Accident
A 26-year-old resident of Farmingdale is not facing any charges after striking a 22-year-old Jersey City man on June 30. On that day, at approximately 2:12 a.m., Umar Khawaja of Jersey City, was videotaping the conclusion of a wedding taking place at Antun's Catering Hall in Hicksville when he stepped out into the right lane of Old Country Road.
