William C. Barton Jr., formerly of Hicksville, died on May 13, 2002. He was a member of Steamfitter Local 638, VFW, Masons and the Hicksville Fire Dept. Co. #2. Husband of the late Josephine R. Father of JoAnn Bainis, Lori Willis, Betty Bennett and Patricia Young. Brother of Edith Niedert and George. Grandfather of 19. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Virginia B. Gridley (nee Boyd), 84, died on May 15, 2002. She was an elementary school teacher for 38 years, president of the Levittown Retired Teachers, past president of CORTLI and a member of the National Counicl for Senior Citizens. She was an avid bowler, bridge player and Mets fan. She was predeceased by her husband Vernon. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Bob), son John (Ellen), and daughter Ginny. Sister of James Boyd (Jean). Grandmother of five. Great-grandmother of five. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Levittown Chapel. Mass at Holy Family RC Church.
