Get out and vote yes for our schools and our children. Vote for the new school board members who are volunteering their time to make Hicksville a better place to live. Nothing is more important to the stability of a community than its school system. We can't continue to fall behind.

Yes, the budget is increasing, but the school district is presenting one of the lower tax increases on Long Island. Plus, this year, we are finally joining the rest of the tri-state area with the implementation of full-day kindergarten.

If you want to complain about the school tax increases, write to your state congressman and the governor and let them know that we're tired of seeing our school aid reduced because Hicksville has a lot of commercial property. Let them live in a neighborhood where a mall is in their backyard. That's our price for living here and that's enough.
