I am a supporter to any improvements to our schools. As I stated in a past letter, many Hicksville residents did not receive notification of the past bond. I was one of them. The only way I knew about what was to be done with the monies if the bond passed was to read it in the Hicksville Illustrated News.

Many people in Hicksville feel that we need to better the education of the children and start paying our teachers a decent salary before improvements of our grounds that are not vital are done. Again, the New York State test results came out and our schools did poorly.

If we want to keep people here in Hicksville, education should be the number one priority. My next door neighbors have just sold their home to move to a "good school district." This will be happening to all of us if something is not done. Let's get a new bond out there and get it passed!
