Please be advised that on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at a regular scheduled Hicksville Chamber of Commerce Board meeting, a resolution was unanimously adopted concerning a proposed traffic plan for Hicksville.

This plan, now being proposed by the Frederick P. Clark Associations in partnership with the Town of Oyster Bay and known as the "Hicksville Hamlet Study," would seriously affect our community to the extent that we must ask you to reject this traffic plan in its entirety. "As is" equals as in its current form.

As proposed, this plan would have a serious adverse effect on our fire department, our water district, public safety, commuter parking for our residents, adult and child pedestrian safety and, in addition, would seriously affect our merchants, businessmen and professional people in Hicksville.

Our resolution opposed to this plan "as is" was adopted unanimously. We are looking forward to sitting down and discussing facts about a new plan that would be an asset to Hicksville, but not this plan marked "Draft One - Hicksville Hamlet Plan, 11-01-01."

Sam Maruca

President, Hicksville Chamber of Commerce
