Christine (Moore) Newins, a 1983 Hicksville High School Graduate and a 1987 Hofstra University Graduate, was recently inducted into Hofstra University Volleyball Hall of Fame. She is the seventh person to receive that honor. She still is the holder of many Hofstra volleyball records, including #1 in service aces. During her volleybal career, she was named MVP two times, and in 1987 was the East Coast Conference Player of the Year. Attending the Hall of Fame Induction and Dinner with her were her husband, Christopher; her children, 6-year-old twins Jennifer and Patrick and 3-year-old Brian; her parents, Eileen and Don; her sister Barbara Ann and husband Gerry with one of their daughters, Julia; her brother, Donald and his fiancee Denise Wagner; and Christine's godparents, Diane and Jerry O'Brien.
