Hicksville's downtown additions, all dressed up for the holidays ... the new fence and community signs at Kennedy Memorial Park were a welcome part of the Hicksville holiday scenery. Photo by Andrea Morale

As Hicksville residents welcome the new year and the holiday season comes to a close, some significant downtown improvements have been showcased in the center of Hicksville. The Hicksville Chamber of Commerce placed a new gazebo in Kennedy Memorial Park in 2001, and began a new tradition of dressing up the downtown centerpiece with garland and bows for the first time. Also part of the Hicksville holiday scenery this year were the new fence and community signs at the park, located at the triangle intersection of Route 107 and Jerusalem Avenue. The additions to the park were complemented by the new look of the recently renovated diner across the street, Empire Diner, on Jerusalem Avenue.
