Most Impressive Veterans Day Service in Over 40 Years
Hicksville honored the nation's war veterans of today and other eras with one of the largest turnouts for the community's annual Veterans Day services Sunday. Members of four veterans organizations and a larger than usual citizenry were present to witness and hear the stirring ritual, messages of post commanders and prayer.

Hicksville Comets Football Team 2001 Heads to Playoffs
The 2001 Hicksville High School Comets Football Team began the season with great expectations. Each week it is becoming more and more evident that there may be no expectation too great for this team. The 2001 season has been an overwhelming success thus far. Under the leadership of Head Coach Bernard Dell'Aquila, stingy defense and terrific running game, they have propelled the Comets to a 6-1-1 record and are headed to the Conference I playoffs, the first time in decades, at Hofstra Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 17.
