Travis Tate and Kathy Martin Win Long Island Championship Race -- Travis Tate of East Northport blazed a trail for nearly 300 harriers who successfully completed the second annual Run for Their Lives Long Island Track & Field Cross Country Championship on Sunday morning, Oct. 28, completing the 8 Kilometer course at Bethpage State Park in 27:28. The Theodore Roosevelt Council Boy Scouts of America, headquartered in Massapequa, announced the formation of an alumni association for past staff, campers and friends of Onteora Scout Reservation. The camp is located in Livingston Manor, New York, and is owned and operated by the Theodore Roosevelt Council (formerly Nassau County Council).
