The Hicksville U-11 boys travel soccer team took first place in the annual North Hempstead Cup Tournament during Columbus Day weekend. The team was in the gold division.

Although the boys suffered a 2-0 loss in their opening game against Albertson, they rebounded to win their second game, 3-1, against the Brooklyn Knights on a cold and rainy Saturday. On Sunday night, the team reeled off consecutive victories by defeating Jericho 5-0 and Sachem 1-0 in a nailbiting game. The team extended special thanks to all the parents and fans who braved the cold and wet weather to cheer on the boys.
