Sisters to Undergo Surgery for Life-Saving Transplant --

The glow of candlelight - and hope - filled the lawn at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in Nassau County's Eisenhower Park on Saturday, Sept. 25, as a large crowd of residents participated in a vigil for the victims of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks.
In early August when the sun was stifling and the temperatures were above 90 degrees, a group of boys from Hicksville and Levittown got together to play football. Known as White Lightning, they are one of five teams picked for the 2001 Levittown Red Devils football program. All month, they geared up for the fall season.
Hicksville children were in the spotlight recently, when on the weekend of Aug. 25-27, the East Meadow Soccer Club held the 13th annual American Ref-Fuel/East Meadow Soccer Tournament. More than 5,000 youngsters participated in games throughout the weekend.
