Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of Hicksville (William M. Gouse, Jr. Post 3211) and the Ladies Auxiliary recently completed nominations and elections of new officers for the coming year 2000-2001.

Cantiague Men's Golf Results
On June 21, the Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League held its seventh bi-monthly tournament. "We had a very good turnout again this week, 26 golfers. This week we started a match play tournament within the regular tournament. We started with 16 men and now we are down to eight," commented a league spokesperson. "We had some good scores today two men shot 35's. (Dan McGann and Sean McGuinness) We also had two birdies today. One by Al Lauritsen on the Par 4, 5th hole, 257 yards. This hole is rated as the hardest hole to par. The other birdie was by Lou Neumann on the par 3, 4th hole, 200 yards. He missed a hole-in-one by about a foot. Lou also had a birdie in the last tournament."

Tiger Schulmann's Kids Win
Students training at the Tiger Schulmann's Karate Center in Hicksville chopped, kicked, and punched their way to victory at the Challenge of Champions event, held on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ.
