Eating Disorder Council Cites an Epidemic of Cases
According to the Eating Disorder Council of Long Island, in Hicksville and other communities across Long Island, eating disorders have become a widespread problem over the past decade, as youth are exposed to a "call to be thin" in strong media images, at an increasingly early age.

Hicksville's own Bill Bennett was recently honored at a testimonial dinner marking the 75th anniversary of the Nassau County Council of the VFW.

Cantiague Park Golf League 'Scrambles'
On May 17 the Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League held its fifth bi-monthly tournament. This week the group played a tournament with a different format. They played a game called "Scramble." All four golfers tee off; whoever has the best shot leaves his ball there and all four golfers hit their second shot from that spot. Then they do the same with the third shot, etc. until someone puts the ball in the hole. That is the score for the team. There is no score for the individual golfer. The team with the lowest score wins the tournament.
