Hicksville Fire Department Answers a Call for Help
The Hicksville Fire Department provided mutual aid in a call to a serious house fire in Westbury last week. The fire caused extensive damage to a house on Salisbury Road in Westbury on Monday, April 2, after flames from a kitchen fire spread thoughout the first and second floors of the home.

Cantiague Golf League Tournament Results
On April 5, the Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League held its second bi-monthly tournament. "We signed in at 7 o'clock but could not tee off until about 8 o'clock because there was frost on the greens. Once we started, however, the sun was shining and there was very little wind and it was a perfect day for golf. We had 26 golfers, which was a very good turnout," stated a spokesperson for the league. "Three golfers got a birdie today. Dom Viccaro got a 2 on the 200-yard, par three, fourth hole. Don Gangamella got a 3 on the 272-yard, par 4, sixth hole. And Lou Neumann got his birdie on the 182-yard, par 3 ninth hole. That helped him to get the overall low score for this tournament."

Hicksville High School Kickline Team Named Champions
The Hicksville High School Starlet Kickline received a "Champion of Champions" trophy at the finale of the Nassau County Scholastic Kick Competition held Sunday, March 11 at Nassau Community College. The team also took first place trophies in both the Kick and Pom divisions.
