Hicksville Civics Discuss Proposed Assisted Living Facility
After holding a meeting Thursday, Feb. 8, some members of several civic associations in Hicksville generally favor the idea of building an assisted living facility at the corner of Broadway and Carl Street. However, looming concern remains over the height of the building, how much more unwanted traffic the facility would generate and how much access firefighters would have to the facility's upper stories in case of emergency.

KeySpan Employees Avoid Strike in Hicksville
KeySpan employees avoided a strike late Tuesday night as their negotiators, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Locals 1049 and 1381, reached a tentative three-year contract agreement with company officials just 45 minutes before the midnight deadline.

Arthritis Foundation Softball Tournament Needs Teams
The Arthritis Foundation is holding its fourth annual softball tournament at Cantiague Park in Hicksville June 9th. Any team, corporate or private organization, or individuals who wish to participate can call Jeff Jackson at the Long Island Chapter at 631-427-8272. The entrance fee is $500 and all proceeds go directly to the local Arthritis Foundation.
