Bryan R. Gillette, of Holbrook, formerly of Plainview, died on Oct. 4, 2000. Husband of the late Margaret. Father of Bryan R. Jr., Alicia Byrne and Christine Brady. Brother of Ronald. Jerome Gillespie Zettler, 85, of Stuart, FL, died on Oct. 10, 2000 at the Mariner Health Care Center in Palm City, FL. He was born July 14, 1915 in East Williston and had been a resident of Stuart for four years, moving from Hicksville. He was the first graduating class of Chaminade High School in 1934. Served as past president of the Chaminade High School Alumni Association. Prior to retirement, he was a salesman for Herbert A. Post Paper and Packaging.
Mr. Zettler was a communicant of St. Ignatius Loyola RC Church. He was past commander of the Manhasset Bay US Power Squadron, resident member of the Circle Bay Yacht Club, member of the Port Washington Yacht Club, founder and past president of the Cantiague Figure Skating Club, Bronze Level Judge of the US Figure Skating Association, past president of the NC Police Boys Club and Hicksville Board of Education; he served on the board of directors for the Gardiner Gregory Museum, district committeeman of the NC Republican Club, chairman of the fund raising drive for the Hicksville Fire Dept. and past president of the Hicksville Northwest Civic Association.
Mr. Zettler was predeceased by his wife Josephine Zapp Zettler. Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Meyer of Dayton, OH, and Christine Zettler of Pine Bush, NY; sister-in-law and husband, Florence and Albert Jacobson of Westbury.
