Hicksville Schools' Proposed Budget
The Hicksville Board of Education announced earlier this week that its estimated Class I tax rate increase for 2000-2001 will be considerably lower than first anticipated. The board had publicized an estimated tax rate increase of $1.32 per $100 of assessed valuation, but after receiving the adjusted base proportions late last week, it has been lowered to $0.422, an increase of only 1.01 percent.
