The annual Hicksville Business Expo is once again coming to Broadway Mall next Saturday, March 25.
The expo, sponsored by the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce, is a day long event where local businesses (retail and service), public officials and important groups can meet the public and to give information on what's available.
A festive atmosphere will be created by a day long schedule of entertainment. Students from the Ella Marie School of Dance will perform throughout the day, and the Long Island Puppet Theatre will also be staging shows. There will also be special demonstrations from the students at Kempo Martial Arts, Woman's Domain, and Jump for Joy. The highlight of the day's entertainment will be a JC Penney fashion show.
According to Ella Columbo, president of the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce, they are expecting to have over 30 businesses set up throughout the mall ready to educate people about their businesses. She feels this is a great way for the community and businesses to get together.
The chamber is involved in the organization of several other events throughout the year. In the fall they hold a Culinary Delights food tasting expo, where restaurants, eateries and bakeries from throughout the community sample their goods for the public. The chamber also sponsors a golf outing each spring and works in conjunction with Legislator Edward Mangano to hold a Women's Health Day. Columbo feels that all of these events are something the chamber has to do as a viable member of the community.
"It is important for the community to see that businesses value the place where they operate," said Columbo.
The is the 14th year the chamber has held the Business Expo. There will be live entertainment the entire day and door prizes awarded. You need not be present to win. This year's Expo promises to be the best so far. It will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 25 at the Broadway Mall, Route 106/107, in the Centercourt Area.
