Holy Family's 7th grade basketball team won its eleventh and toughest game of the season when it beat St. Ignatius 38-35. The game featured tough defense by both teams. After Holy Family jumped out to an early lead, St. Ignatius battled back. Holy Family was finally able to put the game away with a last minute basket by Allen Haynes (8 points) and a free throw made by Bobby McAuley (9 pts.).

Leading Holy Family's defensive charge was Mike Wasiluk and Danny Slater. Tough play under the boards was supplied by James Robison and Mark Mondello. James also scored two points while Mark scored one point. Other scorers for Holy Family were Josh Cuozzo (2 pts.), Mike DiMaria (4 pts.), Larry Buffalino (6 pts.) and Brian Bacchi (6 pts.).

Holy Family's last regular season game before the playoffs begin is a rematch against second place St. Brigid. The game takes place on Feb. 27 at St. Brigid's gym in Westbury.
