Hicksville Soccer U-11 Boys team, the Flash, entered two recent indoor tournaments and displayed a solid foundation for a team that will only get better in time.

The team, which was recently formed in division 7 of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, came in fourth place at a Jan. 9 tournament held at Nassau Community College. The team, which never played an indoor tournament before, was led by their MVP goalie Brian Scott. His acrobatic saves stunned the crowd.

Two weeks later the team entered the Plainview/Old Bethpage Tournament. Playing teams in divisions three, four and five, the Flash entered their final game in first place. Although they lost the game and failed to make the playoff round they showed that with a little hard work and a whole lot of fun they could compete with any team.

The Flash is led by a strong defense consisting of Tim Sciascia, Alex Torrellas, David Mirro, Frank Lamicella, and Dimos Karida. Their offense is starting to come into their own as they are led by Devin Laviano, Kyle Colliee, Ted Bruckner, Joey Dzienius, Brian Masterson, Kyle Bloecker, Steven Skyrnecki and Matt Oliva. The Flash, who are entered in two more indoor tournaments this winter want to thank there sponsors for all their support.

Their sponsors are Tommy's Kitchen II, Tracy Karate, LaCaravella Restaurant, Hicksville IHOP, Boo's Florist, PAL Industries, Jiffy Lube, Ben's Kosher Deli, Island Waste, McDaniel Ford, Robert Chevrolet, Jiffy Lube, Long Island Collision, BVF Auto, All State Agent Winston Brodmerkel, Classic Concrete, Habby's Auto, Lee Myles, IKassoy Inc. and Tony D's Pizza.
