Francis J. Foster, of Syosset, died on Jan. 7, 2000. Retired NYPD. Husband of Carol. Father of Michael, Patricia Lyons and Brian. Father-in-law of Joanne Foster and James Lyons. Future father-in-law of Wendy Morrison. Brother of Tommy, Jackie, Theresa Corrigan and Jean O'Rourke. Grandfather of Brendan and Julia. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Margaret L. Chiz, of Hicksville, died on Jan. 7, 2000. Wife of the late Frank. Mother of Robert (Mary). Sister of Catherine. Grandmother and great-grandmother. Arrangements were made by the Thomas F. Harry P. Dee, 82, died on Jan. 10, 2000 at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. Mr. Dee began his teaching career at St. Francis Preparatory High School in downtown Brooklyn in September of 1951. He then taught at Bethpage High School from September 1953 until June of 1955. In September of 1955, he began teaching mathematics, English and Latin at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School where he was until June of 1968. When John F. Kennedy High School opened in September of 1968, he transferred to the new school and he continued teaching there until he retired in June of 1976.
Mr. Dee was a parishioner at St. Anthony's in East Northport, serving as one of its first lectors and as Eucharistic minister and a member of the Noctural Adoration Society. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 7 in E. Islip and the LI Secular Order of Descalced Carmelites.
He is survived by Mary Daniels Dee, his wife of 48 years; their children, Christopher, Clare and Patricia; and three grandchildren.
Funeral Mass was held at St. Anthony of Padua Church and was followed by interment at St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Nolan Taylor-Howe Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
