Stars Battle in Manhattan
A job well done, once again, by the Hicksville Americans Soccer Club Boys U-8 "A" Tournament Team, the Stars. The boys played their hearts out at the Martin Luther King Tournament held at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, on Jan. 15. Tournament format included 7-eleven minute games. After this round the top four teams move on to the championship round.

Ignatius Student Council Raises Money for Needy
The Student Council of Saint Ignatius Loyola School had a very successful candy cane sale in December. The student council, a group of students committed to help those in need, raised over $150 during this sale. Council moderators Mrs. Ahr, Mrs. Collis, and Miss Petitto, bought baby clothes with the funds. The baby clothes were given to Sister Kathleen McCarthy, the director of Human Services at Saint Ignatius. The clothes were distributed to families in need.
