Fueled by Rob DeGennaro's six first-quarter points the Holy Family 8th grade basketball team opened an early ten point lead against St. Peter's in a weekend matchup last week.

Foul trouble, however, benched four of Holy Family's starters for much of the 2nd and 3rd quarters and St. Peter's took advantage, racing to a three-point lead with ten minutes to play. At this juncture Lou Sullo and Jonathan Kishanuk took control of the backboards and the game. Lou poured in 20 second-half points while Jonathan scored nine of his 15 points in the final two stanzas. In addition, both players snatched 15 rebounds.

They were aided in this area by Justin Rogich and Mike Hebron, each of whom grabbed six rebounds. Brian Garriques (7 points), Carlos Gomez (5 points) and Steven Curcio picked up the defensive pressure down the stretch enabling Holy Family to post a come from behind 55-51 win.
