  • NEWS: Northrop Grumman Community Service Awards

    Northrop Grumman is a presence on Long Island and interested and involved in the community. The corporation supports many charitable organizations on Long Island and the employees give many hours of their time to charitable ventures. On Wednesday, Nov. 10, Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector on Long Island, acknowledged the personal volunteer activities of its employees through the Community Service Awards Reception. This program provides $200 grants for non-profit, non-sectarian organizations to watch their employees give their time as volunteers.   • SPORTS: Holy Family Shines in Opener

    Holy Family sparkled on opening night, defeating host Notre Dame 48-15. Holy Family's tenacious defense held their opponents without a field goal in the first quarter enabling Holy Family to race to an early 17-1 lead. Mike Weiss assisted on six of Holy Family's first eight baskets while Brian Garriques pumped in 10 of his game high 15 points in the opening stanza. Justin Rogich (9 pts.), John Kishanuk (8 pts.), Lou Sullo (7 pts.) and Mike Hebron (7 rebounds) dominated the backboards while aggresssive defense by Steve Curcio (2 pts.), Mike Pesale (5 assists), Rob DeGennaro (2 pts.) and Carlos Gomez (5 pts.) totally disrupted Notre Dame's offense.
