The MacArthur Airport 5 Mile Run on Nov. 14, was the latest in the Long Island Grand Prix series of long distance running that is sponsored by the Hicksville-based KeySpan Foundation and KeySpan Energy under the auspices of Long Island Track and Field. Phil Maroney of KeySpan was on hand to help congratulate the winning runners - and, perhaps more to the point, to present a check for $1,000 to the Bohemia Track Club's Scholarship Fund. KeySpan donates $1,000 to the designated charity of each race in the 21 race series.
"On behalf of all the athletes and of the charities involved in these races, I once again offer my deepest thanks to KeySpan for their generosity and their support," commented Long Island Track and Field President Sue Polansky at the Awards Ceremony that followed the MacArthur Airport Run. "KeySpan is a responsive corporate citizen that is a real asset to Hicksville and to all Long Island."
