Thanks still one more time for the hospitality and warm welcome that you showed to the runners, racewalkers and wheelchair athletes who participated in the inaugural Lovenox Five Kilometer Race for Cardiac Wellness that took place in and around Cantiague Park on Sunday, Oct. 31.
The race was thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants and, perhaps more to the point, raised significant funds for the American Heart Association and helped advance the most important cause of cardiac wellness.
We apologize for those of you who may have been temporarily inconvenienced as the athletes made their way through your neighborhood. We try our best to avoid inconveniencing anyone, and did try to notify all of you in advance¬so, I hope that any inconveniences were only minor.
We very much appreciated those of you who were on the streets to welcome the athletes and cheer them on their way¬on Kuhl Avenue, Gardner Avenue, California Street and Burns Avenue. Thanks again for making us welcome.
Hicksville is a warm and gracious community and that's something that was made apparent to everyone on Oct. 31.
