Royce A. Schaub, of Keene, NH, died suddenly Sept. 23, 1999. He was a longtime resident of Hicksville and retired Grumman employee. He also served in the US Navy during WWII, worked at Camp Blue Bay for the Nassau Council of Girl Scouts and was a boat captain in South Carolina. Husband of the late Florence. Father of Pam (Bill) Durkin and Lauren (Fred) Pignataro. Grandfather of Jamie and Jody Durkin and Julie Pignataro. Brother of Lawrence (Meg) and the late Ronald. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 270 S. Broadway, Hicksville on Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. for family and friends. Donations may be made to the church memorial fund in lieu of flowers.

Mary Shannon, of Hicksville formerly of County Cavan, Ireland, died on Oct. 4, 1999. Wife of Patrick. Mother of Geraldine Lowery and Patrick. Sister of Sean, Jeromeen, Seamus, Brian, Thomas, Charles and Matthew. Grandmother of Hugh and Kerry. Mother-in-law of Danny. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel. Mass at Holy Family RC Church. Entombment Holy Rood Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
