Pauline C. Illjes (nee Fink), 87, of Cornwall Manor, PA, formerly of Hicksville, died on Aug. 3, 1999. She was born in Brooklyn and graduated from high school there. She attended the Maxwell Training School for teachers. She taught at the Hicksville Lutheran School. She was also an artist who painted scenes of azaleas, family members and religious themes. Wife of the late Theodore J. Mother of Eric and Theodore. Sister of Frances Illjes. Grandmother of two. She was cremated and arrangements were made by the Rholand Funeral Home, Lebanon, PA. Services were held at the Zerr Chapel in Cornwall Manor. Contributions can be made to the Fredericksburg U.M. Church, 4160 Shirksville Rd., Jonestown, PA 17038.

Pauline R. Fava, of Hicksville, died on Aug. 6, 1999. Wife of George. Mother Carol Waldeck, Lynn Fava and Anita Lalor. Grandmother of three. Daughter of Charlotte Scaglia. Sister of Thomas Fioretti and Charles Scaglia. Arrangements were made by the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, Hicksville. Mass at St. Ignatius Loyola RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.

Joseph F. Rohan Jr., 78, formerly of Hicksville, died on Aug. 6, 1999. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was retired from RCA Communications. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Son of the late Joseph Sr. and Anna A. Rohan. Husband of the late Margaret. Brother of Robert and Ruth. Father of Linda S. Fare, Joseph F. III and Kenneth R. Grandfather of James Fare and Laura McGill. Great-grandfather of Zachary James Fare. Funeral services were held in Albany. Interment Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, NY. Contributions can be made to Meals on Wheels, c/o Visiting Nurse Association of LI, Garden City.
