On Monday, Aug. 30, there will be an election held for the three-year term of Commissioner of the Hicksville Water District. I feel the need to tell the community a few things since there are three people running for this position. The water commissioners are very important people in ensuring the quality of the water in Hicksville.
I am asking every registered voter to come out and vote and when you do, vote for Richie Humann. He has been one of the commissioners for 15 years. He is dedicated and committed to giving Hicksville the best quality drinking water, while keeping the average cost at $140 a year per household. Richie has worked for legislation to ensure stringent laws are kept to continue providing excellent drinking water in our district. How many times do you read about contaminated water? Never with Hicksville or the surrounding communities. That's because the commissioners are here 24 hours a day, seven days a week, committed to the people in Hicksville.
Richie is a lifelong resident of Hicksville, with children and grandchildren living in the community. The quality of our water and the safety and health of all Hicksville residents are very important to him. He has fought for home rule, which keeps Hicksville water tax money going toward Hicksville improvement. He fights for the innovative ideas and equipment needed to keep our water at its best. Please let him continue do so. Vote on Monday, Aug. 30 at the Hicksville Fire Department on East Marie Street from 6 - 9 p.m. and vote Richie Humann and you will not have to worry about Hicksville water.
