The Nassau County Women's Health Awareness Fair will be held at the Broadway Mall on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"The goal of the Women's Health Awareness Fair is to unite residents with county administrators who can best explain how services can be accessed," said Nassau County Legislator Edward Mangano. "A large number of county agencies will be attending to assist residents with a variety of health services as well as senior citizen services and veteran services."
The event is a combined effort of Legislator Mangano, the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce and the Broadway Mall. During the five-hour fair, visitors will have the opportunity to sit one-on-one with experts from over 30 county agencies. In addition, the Nassau County Mammography Mobile will be offering free mammograms as well as scheduling future appointments.
The Mammography Mobile is part of Nassau County's "no-cost" mammography program which makes breast cancer screening available to women regardless of economic barriers. Since its inception, more than 71,000 screenings have been provided through the Nassau County Medical Center and the Nassau County Department of Health.
"The Women's Health Awareness Fair is a wonderful opportunity for families to learn more about many outstanding county services that are available today. I urge everyone to attend," Mangano said.
