King Wins Third Congressional Seat
In the 3rd. Congressional District, which stretches as far northwest as Manhasset and as far southeast as Massapequa, Republican Congressman Peter King of Seaford, who also ran on the Conservative Party line, won by a large margin. He will serve a fourth term in the House of Representatives.

Maybe Once, But Not Twice
Holy Family's 9th/10th grade team posted consecutive victories against opponents ahead of them in the standings. Holy Family (6-2) avenged an earlier road defeat, puling away from undefeated Notre Dame late in the game, en route to a 64-55 win. Jonathan Daleus not only shut down Notre Dame's leading scorer but also scored three crucial baskets down the stretch to thwart Notre Dame's comeback. Dan Corrigan (18 pts.) blocked eight shots and altered numerous others while Adam Palamara (12 pts.), Zach Asher (10 pts.), Michael Skaee (8 pts.) played brilliantly on the offensive end. Andrew Ahr's 28-foot jumper at the buzzer iced the victory.
