  • SPORTS: Hicksville Ends Season by Beating Garden City 6-2

    The Hicksville 5th grade division 2 PAL lacrosse team ended their season by crushing Garden City "B" by a score of 6-2. The Hicksville team was avenging their only loss of the season to the Garden City "A" team by completely overpowering their Garden City counterparts. The tone of the game was set with the first face-off. As Bobby McAuley has done all season, he won the opening face-off for his team. Bobby settled the offense down and went immediately into one of the teams' offensive plays. Just 40 seconds into the game Bobby made an excellent pass to Danny Abberton (3 goals, 1 assist) who scored the first of his three goals on the perfectly executed play. Bobby McAuley showed why he was voted the MVP for the season by his teammates, scoring 1 goal and assisting on two others, Bobby won all three of the face-offs in which he was involved.
