When two Hicksville Fire Department volunteers began to investigate the scent of smoke after leaving the home of a veteran firefighter on Friday, June 5 there was no way to tell what they would find. When they came to the source of the smoke they found an elderly woman with her in-home nurse trying to exit a house engulfed in flames.

Hicksville's feisty 3rd/4th grade lacrosse team played its final game this Sunday against a tough Jericho team. Even though Hicksville played without two of their starting defensemen and with only 10 players until the 4th quarter, this amazing team gave Jericho quite a fight.
