My name is Barbara Nocita. I would like to take this time to announce that I will be a candidate for the Board of Trustees of the Hicksville School District to fill the vacancy caused by the expiration of the term of Jay Schwartz.

I am a homeowner in the Dutch Lane area, the mother of four school-age children. I am currently a sales consultant for Island Wide Produce, with 18 years retail management experience, and am a prior owner of a retail store. I am proud to be one of the organizers of the B section Halloween Parade now in its fourth year.

At this time I would like to let you know what I would like to see in our school district. More educational programs to help our children succeed K- 12, open government and a fiscally responsible board. I feel if we get out of the business of making money and get back to education we will be giving our children the greatest gift of all. I ask for your support on May 19. Thank you.

Barbara Nocita
