I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alice Groody and it is my pleasure to announce that I am a candidate for the Board of Education of the Hicksville School District.

I have been a resident of Hicksville for the past 45 years, contributing in many ways to the well-being of our community. I retired from the Nassau County Department of Assessment with 25 years of service. During that time I founded and served as president of the Nassau County Assessment Unit of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA). I was also secretary, treasurer and auditing chairperson of Nassau Local 830 CSEA. In addition, I have served, through the years, in many charitable and community activities, such as the Special Olympics and as an officer of St. Ignatius Mothers' Auxiliary. I am presently a trustee of the Hicksville Gregory Museum and 2nd vice president of the Northwest Civic Association. I am also actively involved with the 350th Anniversary of Hicksville.

I know I will bring experience, integrity, honesty, stability and common sense as a trustee of the Hicksville School Board. I will accept my responsibilities seriously and promise to do the very best I can for the betterment of education for the children of Hicksville. Along with my running mate, Barbara Nocita, we will make the Hicksville School District one of the finest in New York state. We thank you for your support.

Alice Groody
