The Holy Family Bluemen closed out the regular season with a 62-33 victory over Our Lady of Mercy on Sunday, February 22. The win gives the Bluemen an 11-1 record and the regular season championship in the Commack Gold Division. The game with Our Lady of Mercy was much closer than the final score indicates.

The Bluemen's aggressive defense allowed the Bluemen to take a 22-12 halftime lead. The Bluemen increased the lead to 43-28 after three periods. Dan Hipp led a well balanced scoring attack with 12 points. Adam Palamara and Dan Rogers each scored 11 points. Matt Scally contributed nine points, Sean Connors had seven points, Pete Dragone had six points and Mike Zuccaro, Tom Foran and Sam Ruggeri each had two points. Tom D'Amelia had three assists and helped handle the ball to beat the Our Lady of Mercy press. The Bluemen received a first round bye in the playoffs as a result of winning the division title. They will travel to St. Gertrude in Bayville on Sunday, March 8 at 3:15 to take on the winner of the St. Anthony vs. St. Joseph match-up.
