    The Facilities Utilization Committee revealed this week the findings of its study on the district's current overcrowding problem, enrollment projections and possible solutions at a special presentation to the school board in the auditorium of the Hicksville High School.

  • NEWS: DEC OK's Plan to Clear Inactive Hazardous Waste

    The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) has proposed the excavation and removal of contaminated non-hazardous material at 290 Duffy Avenue as the culmination of an extensive investigation to determine if waste discovered at the site is, or has the potential to be, a threat to public safety and the environment.

    The Board and the Directors of the Hicksville American Soccer Club congratulate the Hicksville High School Varsity Soccer Team on its outstanding season and acknowledge the athletic achievement of these players as voted upon by the Nassau County Soccer Coaches Association.

    There is a call back to a real Hicksville story brought to mind by the current motion picture, "Seven Years in Tibet." It concerns a fine young man of named Paul Lum. He was of Chinese lineage. During the 1932 football season he was quarterback for Hicksville High Football Team. His father ran a flourishing and respected laundry in the center of town.
