St. Ignatius Loyola Parish's restoration fund drive, support for "SIRF," is in its final month. Restoration of the church and steeple is necessary to see this historic building into the next century. The parish auditorium is slated for rehabilitation to provide for a pleasant and accessible community center. St. Ignatius Loyola has been serving the Hicksville community fro 138 years. The steeple is one of the many landmarks that signify "home" for residents and the community. Children can send their Christmas lists directly to old St. Nick at the North Pole via a special mailbox. Letters to Santa deposited by Dec. 19 will receive a Santa-Gram from the North Pole, assisted by Santa's elves at the Parks Department. No postage is necessary for Santa letters. The staff is comprised of psychiatrists, registered nurses and certified social workers.
