Entertainment Books Fund Raiser

The E.F. Franke Republican Club is selling Entertainment books as a fund raiser. The books are $30 each and are full of discount coupons for travel, food, dining, and hard goods. Hicksville Counseling Center Offers Three Workshops

The Hicksville Counseling Center of Family Service Association announces group workshops. Parenting Education Workshops for single parents are being held Tuesdays from 7 to 8:15 p.m. A Co-dependency Education Series will be held Wednesdays from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Supportive services for Parents of Children with Learning Disabilities are offered at the Hicksville Counseling Center. Perceptual Problems Affecting Reading/Learning

Free meetings about a little-known but common perceptual problem which affects the reading and learning capabilities of children and adults, as featured on 60 Minutes, are now being held at Perceptual Change Associates, 120 Bethpage Rd., Hicksville. Santa's Mailbox

Children can send their Christmas lists directly to old St. Nick at the North Pole via a special mailbox. Letters to Santa deposited by Dec. 19 will receive a Santa-Gram from the North Pole, assisted by Santa's elves at the Parks Department. No postage is necessary for Santa letters. Be sure to include name and address. A colorful red mailbox will be at the administration building at Cantiague Park, Hicksville beginning Nov. 28. Support Group for Family Members

A support group for those who have family members with mental illness meets Mondays from 8 to 9:15 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, Inc. at 246 Old Country Road in Hicksville. The fee is $5 per family. For more information please call 822-6111. Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services, Inc. provides therapeutic and supportive services to people hampered in their functioning by mental illness, psychological difficulties and/or substance abuse and addiction problems. Among its services, the agency provides outpatient mental health services for children and adults living in Nassau County. The staff is comprised of psychiatrists, registered nurses and certified social workers.

Annual Toy Drive for Hospitalized Children

Cabochon Jewelry with Don Curran. Shape and polish your own cabochon of angelite - a beautiful sky blue gemstone - and turn it into a pin or pendant to wear yourself or give as a holiday gift. Wear old clothes as this can be a messy workshop. Note grinding and polishing rock is a slow process and requires lots of patience. For ages 10 to 16 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6. Radio City Christmas Show

Presented by the Hicksville Library. Experience the joy of the season, take in the world famous Christmas Show, view the Rockefeller Center tree and beautifully decorated store fronts.
