Long Island's senior "boys of summer" were honored, Tuesday, at the Knights of Columbus hall on Hicksville Road in Plainedge for a World Series season. The Long Island Senior Softball Association (LISSA) paid tribute to its players - including those who went to the Softball World Series and World Championship.
Three teams from the LISSA - sponsored in part by Vytra Medicare - qualified for the Softball World Series in Irving, Texas and the championship in Utah. Managers Al Wallace of the 60-64 team, Marv Isaacson of the 65-69 team and Cosmo Andreoli of the over 70 team were all on hand for the awards luncheon.
