Angela Susan Anton, publisher of Anton Community Newspapers and Dan Rosett, editor of the Healthy Living Digest section of Anton Community Newspapers, were both honored by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Queens/Nassau at the annual LI/Queens area 2010 NAMIWalks Kick Off Luncheon for their continued support of NAMI Queens/Nassau and NAMIWalks. Joan Gilroy, director of government affairs, Cablevision, was also recognized as an important media sponsor. The luncheon was held on March 24, at the Swan Club in Roslyn Harbor.
“Thank you very much for this honor. We fully support your efforts and hard work to end the stigma of mental illness. Keep up your fine work,” said Anton.
The room quieted as Dan Rosett spoke about his experience with seeing mental illness totally destroy his family. “This is the most meaningful honor I’ve ever received. I am going to continue the fight against mental illness through education and information in Healthy Living Digest and I know you’ll continue the fight also. Thank you so much,” Rosett said.
Anton Community Newspapers, Dan Rosett and Cablevision have been longtime supporters of the LI/Queens area NAMIWalks. The LI/Queens area NAMIWalks raises funds for and awareness of mental illness and will be held on Sunday, May 23 at Jones Beach. Sign in is at 11 a.m., walk begins at noon.
