On Sunday, Dec. 6, an instructor-led, indoor cycling class was held in the NYSC of Great Neck that raised funds for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Andrew Allen, Team Fox member and Great Neck resident, along with Dana Goldthwaite, General Manager of the New York Sports Club of Great Neck organized this terrific event.
There were three spin classes, each an hour-long, the first beginning at 11:00 am. All three classes were filled to capacity, with over 75 people either spinning or cheerleading! Participants and sponsors had great raffle items, which were auctioned off on the day of the event as well. Dinners, gift certificates, salons, toys, flowers, apparel and more were given as prizes, donated by local stores in Great Neck. Thank you to all who participated. If you wish to still make a contribution to the MJFF for Parkinson’s Research, please contact Ms. Goldthwaite at 829-2582 or Mr. Allen at 917-576-0383.s
This festive event successfully raised over $6,000 towards scientific research to cure Parkinson’s disease, plus an awareness to this life altering disease. The NYSC & Team Fox will be orchestrating another such event for the Spring, so please keep on the look-out!
