The miniature-golf course at Eisenhower Park has opened for the 2009 season, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi.
The facility, one of Nassau County’s most popular mini-golf courses and named “Best of Long Island” by News 12 Long Island, features two 18-hole courses (“Mountainside” and “Overlook”) with terraced landscaping that incorporates a waterfall, small ponds, flower beds and a number of challenging holes.
The course is wheelchair and baby-stroller accessible and includes two gazebos with picnic tables that are available for children’s parties.
Prior to the summer season, the course is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fees are $7 for adults and $4 for children and seniors for one 18-hole round. For additional information about mini-golf, call 572-0407.
The jewel of Nassau County’s park system and centrally located in East Meadow off Merrick Avenue, Eisenhower provides 930 acres of activities. After playing mini-golf, visitors can choose to practice their hitting at the adjacent outdoor batting cage, take a swim at the world-class Nassau County Aquatic Center, head over to the large new playground near Hempstead Turnpike, take a stab at the new 2-mile fitness trail, and enjoy all of the other activities the park has to offer.
