Long Island Bike Challenge

All bike enthusiasts are invited to join the Long Island Bike Challenge (LIBC) on Sunday, August 4. The Bike Challenge, led by North Bellmore resident Edward Diller, challenges participants to ride 40, 62 or 100 miles in order to raise money for medical research to defeat cancer, melanoma and other major health problems in order to improve the lives of affected patients and their families. All funds raised are donated to The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. The bike ride starts at the Wantagh LIRR train station parking lot at 6 a.m. and joins riders starting in Medford and Westhampton, finishing in East Hampton later that afternoon. The rout is fully supported with the help of volunteers who man water stops every 20 miles, expert mechanical support provided by local bike shops, and a grand lunch celebration at the finish in East Hampton. Luxury bus transportation is provided to all riders returning them to their respective starting points. For details or to register for the ride, visit www.lichallenge.org or to volunteer, email Edward Diller at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
