Alexandra Horton Named Lady Islanders Co-Captain

Sixteen-year-old Alexandra Horton of Great Neck was recently named co-captain of the Lady Islanders. The Lady Islanders play their home games out of the Dix Hills rink. This is the only elite girls team on Long Island.

Alexandra is a product of the ice hockey program at the Great Neck Park District’s Parkwood Ice Rink. However, there was no girls team at Parkwood. Two years ago she tried out for, and made, the Lady Islanders.

Alexandra attends Great Neck South High School.

In the future Alex is looking forward to playing hockey in college.
