The wait is over! Nearly 8 months after their final game of their inaugural season, the Great Neck Wolverines High School Hockey Team, sponsored by Great Neck PAL, will be taking the ice at the Parkwood rink in Great Neck on Monday, Nov. 7 at 8:15 p.m. The returning players are hungry to repeat the success they had last season. They still have a somewhat bitter taste in their mouths after falling in the semifinals in the playoffs last season. They are eager to accomplish even more this season at the varsity level. They are aiming for a return trip to the New York State tournament, they strive to fare well in the regular season, and play even deeper into the playoffs of the High School Hockey League of Nassau County. For the new players, it’s a new energy and new challenge to be part of the Wolverines as they plan to continue to help build a culture and legacy of success.
For those of you attending the game, you can use the following list as a program to identify the players:
#1 Ray Coscia, #2 Jared Gany, #5 Ryan King, #8 Ben Todaro, #9 Jack Schildkraut, # 10 Cory Zelniker, #12 Jordan Zelniker, #14 Max Latin, #17 Jarett Greben, # 18 Daniel Maggio, #21 Jake Horowitz, #23 Ian Lam, #26 Brandon Shapiro, # 28 Gavin Schwartz, #32 Jonathan Shapero, #33 Jordan Domnitch, #71 Dago Rodriguez, #91 Robert Campbell, and #99 Bradley Rutkin. Behind the bench wearing a tie, you will find head coach Blain Aronovitch.
This is the day the players have been waiting for. The chance to show all of Great Neck what they have been working so hard for. Last season the building was packed on opening night and the kids fed on the energy. Let’s be shore to root on Great Neck as they host East Williston for an exciting home opener.
