For the eighth year, the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program is a beneficiary of the Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer, receiving a grant of $35,000. The funds received assist the breast cancer program in its Paths to Wellness Program, a series of workshops for breast cancer patients.
Eleven Long Island women were on the Adelphi walking team: Linda Olsen, East Meadow; Sue Gerson, North Bellmore; Caitlin Castellano, North Bellmore; Diane Gioia, Patricia A. Goodsell and Marie Grisafi, New Hyde Park; Kathy Diamond, East Meadow; Susan Shulman, Westbury; Stefi Hochhauser, Merrick; Regina Shields, Baldwin; and Mary Jean Scott, Ridge.
Since its inception in 2004, LI2DAY has raised and awarded over $3 million to local breast cancer nonprofit organizations such as the Adelphi program, scientific research and the LI2DAY Scholarship Fund.
