Two-Day Bike Event for M

The Long Island Chapter of the (National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter) will hold its fourth annual two-day (Twin Forks bikeMS©)bikeMS© Twin Forks Ride on Sept. 12 and 13.

The bike ride is the only two-day tour on the island, with a 150-mile course that gives participants a chance to experience the beauty of both Long Island’s north and south forks.  Participants will have the opportunity to choose between 20, 50, and 75 mile options throughout their journey on the course. Day one of the course will begin at Southampton and conclude with a Celebration Dinner on Shelter Island. Those who will be riding the full 150 miles will have the opportunity to stay overnight at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island. Day two will begin at Shelter Island and finish at Southampton, with a finish line barbecue waiting for bike riders.

Riders can either participate as individuals or as part of a team. Those planning to ride the full 150 miles are especially encouraged to register as soon as possible to reserve their bed for the overnight stay at Camp Quinipet. All proceeds will be donated for MS Research (Proceeds will benefit Long Island programs and services in addition to funding national research). To participate, there is a non-refundable, non-transferable fee of $75 that is not applicable to the minimum pledge amount. Participants are required to raise a minimum of $250 by September 12, 2009.
