Great Neck resident Brad Rutkin was a member of the United States Golf team that captured second place at the 2011 Euro Junior World Cup held July 22-29 in St. Andrew’s Scotland. The tournament was composed of match play over three days on some of Scotland’s most famous golf courses, most notably Scotscraig, the thirteenth oldest course in the world and home each year to the British Open Qualifiying Tournament. Brad has competed over the last few years in local tournaments but this was his first international competition. Brad is entering eleventh grade at Great Neck North High School. In addition to golf he plays hockey for the Great Neck Bruins and The Great Neck Wolverines, where he was named to the Nassau County All-Star Team, and was MVP of the JV baseball team. Brad is the son of Alan and Maura Rutkin.
