Jaguars are Getting Ready

Jaguars are Getting Ready

Welcome back to the start of another soccer season for the Great Neck Jaguars! The girls are back from summer camp and beginning their fall practices this week with a strong three to four hours a day to prepare for a Labor Day Tournament and the Long Island Junior Soccer League’s fall season. This year, the girls have stepped up to a very competitive division, which has top teams hailing from Long Island and Queens. They will be playing on full, official regulation size fields at a beautiful facility in Port Washington called Harbor Links, which was uniquely made for the games of soccer and lacrosse.

On top of that, the girls will also be playing in the state cup matches with teams from throughout the state. The tournament will be single elimination, taking approximately six wins to make it to the finals, and the first game is in late September. In the meanwhile, the Jaguars have grown to sixteen players, composed mostly of sixth graders from Great Neck South and North Middle Schools. We are blessed to have ideal parent managers, and of course, we can’t forget our trainer extraordinaire, Leigh.

As the Great Neck Jaguars enter these intense competitions, be sure to come out, watch, and support the team!  Best of luck out there, girls.  Go Jaguars!
